Accessibility Statement Rouje
Rouje is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe in the importance of inclusion and equal access to information and our services. We are actively working to improve our website, rouje.com, to ensure it remains accessible and usable by as many people as possible.
This accessibility statement applies to the Rouje website. roujaei.com
For the best experience, we recommend using an up-to-date version of your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge).
1. Compliance status
Based on a self-assessment, the Rouje website is partially compliant with the Référentiel Général d'Amélioration de l'Accessibilité (RGAA), version 4.1, and the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.
Non-compliance with certain criteria is described in the "Non-accessible content" section. We are committed to implementing an action plan to address these issues, including, in due course, a full RGAA audit.
2. Accessible features
Adaptability and responsiveness: Responsive interface, suited to different devices and orientations
Forms: Structured management of input fields (login, shipping, contact)
Recent improvements: Removal of overlaid text on visuals that impaired readability
Addition of alt text on website images
Simplified navigation
Addition of a chat widget to make it easier to reach customer service
Addition of play/pause and sound on/off controls on category page videos
3. Non-accessible content and exemptions
Some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible.
The points below still need to be verified and corrected by our teams:
- Image alt text: although corrective work has begun, some informative images (product visuals, promotional banners) may not yet have relevant alt text across the entire site.
- Color contrast: some text and interface components (links, buttons, text over images) may not meet the minimum required contrast ratios (4.5:1 for standard text).
- Visible focus: on some complex interactive elements, keyboard focus may not be sufficiently visible.
- Videos: category page videos now include play/pause and sound on/off controls; the availability of transcripts or audio descriptions for informative videos still needs to be confirmed.
- Downloadable documents: some documents (guides, terms and conditions, product sheets) may not be structured for correct reading by assistive technologies.
- Menus and dynamic components: navigation has been simplified; it still needs to be confirmed that menus, product filters, and modals are fully usable by keyboard and correctly announced by screen readers (ARIA roles, focus management).
- Forms: field management is in place; it still needs to be verified that required fields and errors are properly flagged (aria-required, aria-describedby, aria-invalid) throughout the checkout process.
Disproportionate burden exemptions: None to report at this time.
4. Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was started in January 2026, based on a self-assessment covering the site's most critical pages: Homepage / Product category page / Product page / Checkout process (cart, login, shipping, payment) / Contact page
Testing carried out to date relies, among other tools, on the automated Lighthouse tool (Chrome). Additional testing (manual audit, testing with screen readers such as NVDA or VoiceOver) is still needed to fully validate this self-assessment.
5. Feedback and contact

6. Ongoing improvement
Rouje is committed to continuously improving the accessibility of its website. Our roadmap includes:
- Technical review of the points listed in Section 3 (contrast, alt text, visible focus, third-party components, documents, forms)
- Carrying out a more comprehensive RGAA audit, including manual testing and screen reader testing
- Training and awareness for our technical and editorial teams
- Integrating accessibility testing into our design and development processes
- Regularly updating this statement as corrections are made
We believe digital accessibility is everyone's responsibility, and we thank you for your support in this important effort.
